My wheel Bearings went after less than a year on my 2001 Tibby as well as my headlight bulbs once. The seatbelts get twisted constantly (recall that I never got done due to plans on racing seats and 4 pt. belts) Other than that I love my Tib!

 

2001 Automatic Tiburon

My car rattles SO much in SO many places, I've stopped trying to figure out why. It's a stock car, it shouldn't rattle.

Moving from R to N to D is kind of sketchy.


2001 Automatic Elantra

In the stock CD (no cassete) player when a CD is played for over about 10 minutes an odd sound is made many times, and when the CD is taken out it is VERY warm.

1.hard to go in revers and first
2.factory petal covers come off to easy when driving
3.ash try gears are broken (need to go bad to the dealer and get it fixed)
4.both door pannels have cracks!!
5.rear window defoger intermitent (probally relay)
6.paint!!!is ****!!!!

 

2001 Automatic Tiburon

Both my door panels cracked, from heat I believe.

My brakes seem to squeak and always have.

My center console "door" broke off in normal use.

On the driver's side door, the back-botton area of the window doesn't "seal" right with the car, so when it rains VERY hard I get a little water in the car, not much, but it is still a problem.

I know I have more, I just have to think of them.

 

01 tib 5spd

passenger side low beam went out...

Mirror rattles and makes a buzz at highway speeds.

Other than that no rattles in my car at all, quiet as a mouse.

Let's see...

1. Headlight problem, usually on the passenger side.

2. Rear defrost intermittent, just like someone else.

3. Shifting problem into 1st and Reverse.

Mods listed below.

 

oh yeah! the seal aroung the windows. some of the windows leak in the rain...not always though.

something wrong with the cup holding. It doesn't eject properly or attach properly when i push it back in.

 

2001 tib 5-speed
1.squealing brakes
2.hard to get into 1st and reverse
3.pass. side window sometimes wont go up
4.sunroof sometimes wont close all the way
5.fried ignition..from ignition switch out..was driving and car just died..fixed under warranty but took a week
6.more noises than u could imagine
7.banging noise when hard shift
8.twisted seatbelts
but i still will always love my tib

 

Just so you guys are aware...

Hyundai recently told our shop that we are replacing too many things under warranty and that this situation will result in the shop possibly being audited if more claims come through.
(apparently Hyundai is tired of fixing stuff and wants the consumer to pay)

Notables:
-Hyundai bitched when our shop replaced all the seats in an XG due to fading.
-Hyundai is aware of reverse arm and synchro problems in the Accents but will now send inspectors out to try and prove these problems are due to speed shifting or racing.

However, Hyundai is researching ways to get the customer satisfaction index up. 83% is now the minimum level accepted, even this will result in terse meetings.

I am unaware if this is just my region or company wide policy, but I thought you might be aware.

i)Blown Headlights,Foglights,Map Lights, Tail Lights and Dash Light.
ii)Seat belts getting twisted (FIXED RECALL)
iii)Driver side and passenger side front wheel bearing (REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY)
iv)Drivers front window leaks (SAID IT CAN'T BE FIXED)
v)Broken gas pedal cover
