Not much of a trance-head, but some of it is ok. I listen to ALOT of Jungle, Drum-N-Bass, and Breakbeat (Florida Breaks mostly). I'm coming down to Miami in March for the Ultra Music Fest. Pretty much a week long rave. Last year, the main stage had Oakenfold, and there was close to 20,000 people in there. It was sick. I have pictures that show waves and waves of people just raving and dancing with a sick laser and lighting show when Oakenfold was playing.
Anyway, as for your friends mix...its too slow. The BPM's need to come up a little more. nana.gif Also, it sounds like his levels were off (bad channels on the mixer maybe) or it could of just been bad recording equipment.
Its kind of funny though....the songs that he was mixing with the trance back samples are generally songs you see in the Jungle genre or even certain Breakbeat artists will use them too. Bu hardly ever trance.
The advice I'd say for your friend is keep practicing (hopfully he's not a bedroom DJ and he's actually getting decent gigs with reputable promoters), and hopefully he'll do well. If he hasnt already, he needs to start making demos also, and get his name out a little more in the DJ/party scene.
Much luck to him. smile.gif

Is anyone else tired of the 80's and 70 songs being remixed right now???

Not bad at all.
I'm a diehard Electro head.
The Crystal Method, Chemical Bros, George Acosta, you name it.
