Alright, so i have an exhibition and left of center ticket on my record.

Want to get them removed, heard it can be done with a defensive driving class?

Any one wat it takes to do, how much? what it does for your driving record?

I really dont want to pay 200+ insurance a month.

I am thinking of getting a new car, so i would need full coverage, and that would be like 450 a month insurance price.

Any of you done this before?

I am going to look into it tomorrow, but i wanted your guys imput first.

You'll have to check a couple things for specific answers for your situation...

Some states will waive certain amounts of "bad-driver" points for successful completion of a "defensive" driving course. However, you'll have to look into which specific courses are recognized by the agency that issued your ticket(s); there is an accreditation process for these courses. If you pay for one that isn't accepted, you gain knowledge, but won't help your legal situation.

Defensive Driving (or rather, "Driver's Improvement") courses run from free to several hundred dollars; they can be one-day classes, or up to a couple weeks in length. For example, the average cost for the AAA's Driver's Improvement Course runs upwards of $300, depending on the specific course: Volunteer, Mature Operator, or First Offender (they're on the more expensive end of the spectrum, but AAA courses are more widely accepted). Some you can even do online.

Same thing goes for your insurance. You can receive up to a 20% discount on your policy just for providing proof of completion of a Driver's Improvement Course. Again, check with your provider to see if they recommend or acknowledge these courses; some providers actually sponsor their own courses you can attend for a discount or even for free.

Thanks man.

I planned on checking into this tomorrow, just wanted to see what ppl thought.

Also, i got a BS!!!!!!! expidition / careless driving ticket becuz of someone calling me in?

No proof, no cop seen it, no audio/video of me doing it

I dont get how they can actually give me a careless driving for something someone called and said.

I could do the same thing........ is it possible to hire a lawyer after this has happened to get it off my record? I dont deserve it.....

if it happened 6 months ago.. it is too late to fight it. Once you paid the ticket, you admitted guilt.

The only way to get anything dropped or lowered is to go to court and contest, paying the fine admits guilt as Mad-Machine said.
If you were innocent, why wouldn't you go to court?? question.gif

If it is too late to fight it, you can see if your insurance will give you a discount for attending a defensive driving course. My insurance gives a 5% discount of going to a class once a year.
