We always butcher them ourselves.
Most people who don't like wild meat it's because they got it processed at a butcher. Some butchers do a good job but if a deer is processed like a cow it'll come out way worse than the way we do it and unfortunately the majority of butchers don't know how to deal with a deer properly.
If we get an elk we butcher it, but we usually take the hamburger meat in to a butcher to grind it and put it into one pound packages.
