It's simple, really. When Communism/Socialism/Marxism had obviously failed as a governance policy per se the leftists didn't want to stop trying to get the government of (name your State) to run the entire country. So they hopped on a bandwagon everybody liked at the time: The Environment.
Now they are trying to get the world's governments to engineer the societies and economies of the world in the name of Saving The Environment.
And they are finding it a little harder to get public support because the planet obviously started cooling off a couple of years ago. That's why algore says they're running out of time. His family's carbon trading company is going to be out of business soon without government help, and the governments are going to clue in to the "climate change" scam any old year now.

^ So i guess all those videos and reports of ice melting and breaking off were fake?
To me it seems obvious that 7 billion people living on this planet and harvesting all its resources (like oxygen) with heavy industrialization would have some kind of effect on the planet itself... I don't know why some people find it so hard to believe that. Not to mention the wasteful lifestyle in most of the countries - e.g I throw away at least one full bag of trash every day, most of which required energy to be produced and transported to me; or national average water consumption is 159 gallons per individual per DAY (not that the water is actually lost, but just think of the energy required to circulate all that water through the cycle).

All I have to ask is, Hasn't the earth gone through many hot and cold periods before we were here? Hmmmm seems like its is gonna happen regardless of what we do....?

Yup. Fact is, the earth has had CO2 emissions at thousands of times higher than we are making right now.
Everyone just wants to be right, and they all have proof, but the geological record clearly shows that the earth has been much hotter, much cooler, and is always going through hot and cool periods. Trying to justify global warming by going over 200 years of records, when the geological record goes back BILLIONS, is like trying to determine the temperature of the water on earth, by sampling a pond in Minnisota.

Yes, the Earth went through many climate changes, but
^this may be true or not, nobody knows for sure..
That is simply not true. Fact is, over the past 50 years, CO2 concentration in the atmosphere went from 315 ppmv to almost 400 ppmv, and 99% of it due to industrial activity. If that isn't a significant increase, I don't know what is..

Fun fact: water vapor is a more potent 'greenhouse gas' than CO2.
Fun fact: the world does not have a thermostat, and we therefore cannot set the temperature
Fun fact: the heating and cooling of the planet is approximately 100% caused by solar output
Not-fun fact: the world's leftists would like to destroy the prosperity of the industrialized nations in the name of preventing climate change (developing nations get a free pass)
Fun activity: go educate yourself.

Like RED Z stated, you cant look at the past 50-200 years and state that the earth has never had these CO2 concentrations. You have to look back into other parts of Earth history, lets say a million years ago. (if its possible, idk I'm no geologist)

like stated above 50 years is NOTHING, how 500 years is NOTHING, even 500,000 years is still.... NOTHING
you can't just look at when humans were around, BEFORE humans were even around the earth has had CO2 concentration over 400 ppmv
