Cloverfield, What the hell?

I've been waiting like 7 months for Coverfield and I wasn't let down at all. I thought it was awesome, nothing I didn't like, and I thought the camera work was so intense it just kept you stuck to your seat during the action and when it wasn't action it was funny. A good humour too, no transformers joke bullshit. Only problem I had was

When the monster grabs Hud, it's like 1/8th the size of the one that get's hit by the stealth bomber. Thought everything else was really sweet.

Exactly what I was thinking, AND why the hell was the chopper flying close enough for the "monster" to knock it out of the sky? It was getting cluster bombed at that time so maybe should have watched from afar.
Overall it was a very good movie.
