^^ Use heat sink compound between the surface and the sensor
Calibrate the temp sensor
Keep it out of air flow

Built mine 6 years ago. Still running great, with minor upgrades every once in a while.

don't cheap out on the case if you plan on using it for a long time. Mine was about 150 and I've been using it since about 2000, I think It's had 3 motherboards in it, mods to the case, tons of lan parties and it's still as solid as ever.

sata is a good choice, much faster than ide and not much more. those sata power connectors are just different, they are also supposed to allow hot swapping since sata allows it. But I've never tried it.

You can calibrate them by moving the legs of the sensor closer or farther apart usually.

That case will allow you to one day understand why a good case is worth every penny.

I have built dozens of computers using Antec cases. They are the best value.

If you get a Lian Li you will have that case through years of upgrades, and it's so easy to work on.

PSU ratings are just as deceptive as amp power ratings. Would you buy an ebay special $50 "3000w" amp to run your expensive component speakers?

Buy from Newegg or Directron.

Oh, and any fan that has LEDs built in is going to be a POS.

Sorry to disapoint everyone but I went after work and bought a cheap case locally. I know you guys warned me about the cheap power supplies in these things, but it came with a warranty and I can get another good power supply pretty cheap if this one goes out. It's a 500w and the guy said that it has the SATA hookup. I got it for $50, and it goes for $60 on Ebay. He actually had a large quantity of the ones that are sold online. I liked this one cause it had hookups for several more fans and no front door to open. My GF liked the neon bubble lights on the front, so she second my decision. And they have a switch on the bottom to turn them off if they get annoying.
Honestly, I'm not too worried about the little things going out, like the fans or whatever. They're like $5. Besides, I'm used to it with the Tib. lmao.gif

K, I'm embarrased to admit this, but you guys are right. But I didn't think that not only would the power supply burn up in 2 days, but take my $300 motherboard with it!!!!!!! mad.gif

Ran fine for a whole 2 days, then sparks flew out the back and everything shut down.
