An Automotive history of me.

Brougham LOL My friend's neighbor has one with wire rims, limo tint, a ghetto loud ass system. Looks like a drive-by suspect's car except hes got a baby seat in it haha.
1st: 1984 Toyota Camry- Drove that sucker half way through high school, until it overheated and cracked the block, then sold it to a neighbor. Ignition lock so cheap you could start it with a penny. I Had it stolen once before and I was so Fricking happy it was gone, until the cops called me at 4am and told me it was slammed into a dumpster, in another city, but no dents. I had to get a ride and drive that POS all the way back.
2nd: 1990 Honda CRX- I loved it with a passion, after seeing australians fix them with cyber kits I drooled for one for years before I got one for graduation. Bought a lowered black one and got intake/headers/exhaust and I was racing from 98-99 til transmission gave up at the races. Towed it back and it cost more to fix than what I bought it for, so I sold it. Plan to get another one for a project car though
3rd: 1999 accent L- I was at work at Rite Aid when my mom picks me up from work and shows me a brand new silver accent in the driveway. She dumped the $2500 I saved and put a down on the accent. I was mad as hell for a week because she bought me a Hyundai. Told her I wanted a silver hatchback, (meaning a 91 crx). I got what I wanted I guess, just didnt know it at the time. It grew on me after a couple months and then after dozens of unreplied emails to australian aftermarket companies and searching for months I found fxtreme. Seeing other people fixing up hyundais motivated me to fix my car up. Still in the works on making it look good, then I'm gonna make go fast afterwards.

My first car was a 1991 ford probe. That car was a POS. I didn't know a thing about cars when I first bought that thing. It was a GL with no power anything and it took a weekend to go from 0-60. I had it for a little over 2 months when I pulled out in front of an old lady driving a brand new Chrysler 4 door tank of some sort and totalled the probe.
I was all out of money so my parents gave me their old 89 dodge caravan, that thing was the sh!t,lol. It was brown with wood grain siding. I had two rockford punch dvc 12's in that car with a 500 watt amp pushing them.
I finally got tired of that pos and decided it was time for me to drive a nice car. I pulled up at the hyundai dealership and it was love at first site. A 2000 cobalt blue tiburon with an automatic transmission (I couldn't drive a manual at the time and now I'm regretting it). It's been getting kind of beat up though I've got two small dents in my passenger side door from my trip up to Canada and my door panels are all creaky as well as my paint job is starting to look a little dingy. I've spent most of my money on the audio system but I will be dressing it up quite nice here before too long.

If my mom used my money to buy me a car, I would be pissed! Unless if was a Tibby or something, but still I wouldn't like that!

Yeah, I was debating on whether or not to take it back to the dealership, but I thought it out and I felt it would be a pain in the ass after she and my dad did all the paperwork and my parents were only trying to do something nice for me. I was 2 paychecks from my CRX... but I'm glad I didnt take it back and I have something different from the rest of the pack.
#26
Well, here is my addition to the pack.
#1 1976 Ford LTD II, was grandmother's car. Took it out one evening on the highway and threw a few rods going like 90. They used my savings and rebuilt the engine. 3 days later i loose control and total the car. ::sniff::
#2 1976 Ford F150 larait, this truck was the shiznit smile.gif big huge v-8, triple tanks, and best of all, was ALL MINE!!!!! Water pump went out, ate the engine, the day after getting new wheels and tires for it. I know the guy who bought it, and i still see her every once in a while.
#3 1986 Pontiac 6000...POS nuff said, very painfull memories.
#4 198? mercury marquis, parents car..i would sometimwes sneak it out of the house smile.gif
#5 1986 dodge 250 full conversion van. "da pimpmobile" i sneaked it out for years, and they parents gave it to me for a present, stranded me outta town for a week, and then died soon afterwards.
#6 2000 Tropic Green 5speed tibby
after the van died, i was looking for something cheap and new, my girl suggested hyundai, and i laughed at her. went to hundai .com and an hour later i was test driving a tib, the dealer didn't have what i wanted, so later that evening, drove home from another dealer in my lil girl smile.gif
so, i had only seen one 6 or so hours earlier, and now i'm in my new first car, it was an hour drive home from dealer, and i didn't make it home till the next afternoon smile.gif That night me ant Tibby fell deeply in love smile.gif
Next me and my brother are expirementing with alternative forced induction((with no blow off valve)) so, needless to say, i have a misshap, run lean, and kill the engine.
everyone wants me to get rid of the car, but i go have a long talk with her, and the next day i write a check to the dealer for almost 6 grand, every cent i had to my name, and i gave it to the car.
We have a good time and then bout 2 months ago, i was making a CAI, and i hit 2 feet of water, and literally drowned the engine, hydrolocked, bent crank, rods, the whole 9 yards
(( btw in New Orleans u can ger flooded streets in like 10 min))
I call my insurance and start to get the tibby done, and its gunna cost me 1200 when its all said and done. Needless to say, famly has pity on me and they scrape the money together.
Now, me and my 2k tib, almost 30 thousand miles, bout 5 on brand new engine, and we are running fgreat, also have a new forced induction system almost running, working out details now smile.gif

Well first car was a 1977 Celica GT with the 20R motor. Unfortuneately the fuel pump went in it after about a month of having it also had some electrical problem we couldnt figure out. So after finding out we had to drop the rear end and remove the gas tank to get to that electronic fuel pump we trashed the car. Only bought the car for $300.
Didnt have my own car till about a yar ago after about 5 years of not hving one. It was a 1986 Chevy 3/4 ton pickup. Paid $2000 for it. After a week of having it te fuel pump was leaking. Replaced that with a holley. Then a few days later the starter housing broke in three pieces. Replaced that with an Accel starter. The same day that went in the head gaskets blew. Replaced them. After driving it for about 6 hours the carb $hit the bed. Rebuilt the Quadra-jet. Didnt have the money to get an Eidlebrock. Got it running good for about 2 weeks. Now its got a knock in it and probably running on 7 cylinders. Due to an expected miss torque of the rocker arms. Its now running really rich with a slight manifold gasket leak. (dang rubber valley gasket blew out a little in the front.) Its running ok but getting about 6 mi per gal. Got a freind of mine fixing the problems and will be selling it to him for $3000. He will be using it to tow a camaro dragster.
About 2 1/2 months ago bought the brand new Elantra GLS. Love it so far. Especially the manual tranny.

Geez...I might need two posts for my cars but here goes:
My first car was free - a guy had the hood open on it and couldn't get it to start at the gas station. I was driving my mom's 1989 Cavalier and he just signed the title over to me for offering to help and taking him to his house. It was a 1978 Mazda GLC with wooden floor that "bounced" because it was rotting out on the passenger side, 4 speed because fifth no longer worked or else it revved really high on the highway. Top speed: 74mph.
Second car: 1984 Ford Thunderbird, V6, auto, open exhaust system (dump pipes). $350 because it had been wrecked by sliding into a ditch. Fixed the damage and slid it into a ditch the following winter, same side. Sold it for $1k fixed.
Third car: 1985 Isuzu I-Mark, 5-speed 4 door (not hatchback), aluminum wheels gold w/ brown interior. Oil pump finally split and I duct taped it and had mom trade it in on her a new car so I could have her old one.
Fourth car: 1989 Chevy Cavalier, White/black int, 5 speed, still under warranty until I sold it because I would never own that thing w/o warranty
Fifth car: 1995 Honda Civic EX, 1st new car, teal, 1.8L, 5 speed, every option, awesome stereo, crashed on wet pavement before the first payment after racing a friend home earlier in the evening - I won because of really curvy roads.
Sixth car: 1995 Honda Civic DX, used, red, 5 speed, 1.6L, missing two rear speakers, hated this car and sold it quick as it wasn't a "diminishing return" ie: owing more than the value
Seventh car: 1988 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe, 2.3L Turbo I-4, ford 9" posi-traction rear end, Koni red shocks, black/tan int w/ factory power sunroof & 17" aluminum alloys, 15.99@87mph at the strip.
Replaced nearly every part on the car including (in order) trans pan gasket, thermostat, head gasket, head & gasket, thermostat, radiator, trans cooler lines, trans, thermostat, wastegate, thermostat, thermostat, trans - driving home from the trans replacement the front of the car was "removed" by an escort wagon. The accident rotated my car by about 75 degrees and broke her seat belt at the floor sending her into the air bag. 35mph zone, she claims she wasn't speeding.
Eighth car: 1985 Merkur XR4Ti, 2.3L Turbo, 5-speed, fastest car I have ever driven. Hadn't been driven in 6 years when I backed it out of the garage. 1st owner was a Ford Engineer who now drives a miata with ungodly horsepower, 2nd car I got for free, 3" exhaust, performance aluminum head, one time in the shop for a timing belt replacement, on I-90WB past 290 hit 160@4400 rpm and let off throttle - scared into selling it for $500 to co-worker.
Ninth car: 1988 Honda Prelude 2.0 SOHC
Slow but handled excellent
Tenth car: 1999 Hyundai Tiburon, 5-speed, showroom model, purchased at River Rd & Oakton in Des Plaines, IL
Eleventh car: 1988 Dodge Daytona Pacifica, 2.2L Turbo, auto, replaced head gasket and rod bearings, purchased for $75
Twelvth car: 1985 Merkur XR4Ti, much better shape than my first and not as fast - still awesome http://www.rbmotorsports.com/ lists the 200+mph Merkur, giving it the title of "world's fastest 4cyl production sedan" - in case you were ever curious.
