I have some very exciting news! I was chosen to participate in a Pharmacy rotation in the lovely state of Alaska. I will be working for free in a Community Pharmacy in Sitka, Alaska. This is a great opportunity and I am super excited. I already know a few people in Alaska so it's time to make a few more connections. I will be in Alaska from May 19-June 30th! A lovely time of year up there. I think I need to take a charter plane to Sitka because google maps cannot calculate driving directions from Anchorage to Sitka. It is way cheaper to fly into Anchorage then to Sitka so I was looking into flying into Anchorage and driving a few hours to Sitka. The flight difference is $400. Once I get a hold of a few of my connections I will make my decision about my flights. I will keep you all in the loop and take plenty of pictures. Unfortunately, my Subaru will stay in Pennsylvania. There is no way I am driving to Alaska and putting those kind of miles on a new car even though I would love to have fun with him in the snow! I will just rent a Subaru while I am up there.

You might find that there aren't any roads to drive on, iirc only like 40% of the state has roads.

 

Alaska is the #1 state for suicides. So you might end up seeing a lot of depressed people up there.
