Default Walbro fuel pump

I know it is needed for a 75 shot, but are there any negative side effects besides the noise (some say it hums or something). While I probably won't shoot over a 50 shot for now I was thinking about getting one for safety purposes and for when forced induction comes around. Just wondering if there were any side-effects on a vehicle that doesn't specifically need it (ie bolt-ons and possibly small (50) Zex shot).

If you want to just run a 75 shot, go purchase a 2nd gen stock Eclipse GST/GSX fuel pump. It flows a lot more than our stocker, but is quiet, easy to find and cheap.

On the zex manual they prefer you to retard the ignition 4 degrees for a 75 shot. Is it okay if you just put octane 92 and don't worry about retarding the ignition?

Probably not. Four degrees of ignition retard is quite a bit; you should probably go find some Sunoco 98.

I don't think we can adjust the retard on a beta engine.
