Where did you race? Ennis, or that place up in Denton?

Never seen your car before, when do you plan to take it to the track again?

According to Car and Driver, Sept. 2000:

Aston Martin DB7 Vantage: 13.6 seconds @ 106 mph
5.9l V-12, 414 hp.

Porsche 911 Turbo: 12.3 seconds @ 116 mph
3.6l flat-6, 415 hp

Ferrari 360 Modena: 13.1 seconds @ 110 mph
3.6l V-8, 395 hp

So you're running in league with cars like these? I'm with Random. Time slip?
I would pay good money to see any Tib, modified or otherwise, keep up with a car that costs upwards of $100,000 U.S.

That would save even more weight, you know. rolleyes.gif

BEEE ESSS for several reasons:

Number one, everyone here knows, and MANY people have experienced personally what happens with the stock differential when you apply power and traction. Pinion shaft pin + 250 pounds of torque = cracked transmission housing when it explodes.

Number two, care to explain how you advance timing three degrees? Did you turn the distributor? Tweak the cam angle sensor? Oh wait, you cannot do either one.

Those are the two biggest issues, there are other smaller nitpicks but they can be overlooked.

Another thought: In Jaws 021's sig, he says his car has 185 whp and runs the 1/4 in 14.8 at 95 mph.
185 whp is what, about 210 at the crank (I'm not an expert, so correct me if I'm wrong)?
So how much more power would Tiburon01s car have to have to cover the 1/4 1.5 seconds quicker, and achieve a trap speed 17 mph quicker?

Considering his time is very close to a Ferrari 360 Modena's, and that car does the 1/4 at 110 mph, and the 360 has 395 hp, then how much power would Tiburon01's car have to be putting out at the wheels to achieve that kind of performance?

I wanna see a time slip or dyno chart.

There is more than just horsepower that affects a car's ability to cover the quarter mile. Traction, weight bias, gearing, weight, aerodynamics, and the actual shape of the torque curve produced by the engine.

On a 125 direct port shot, the "general rule" suggests the car is making around 210-230 wheel horsepower. However, nitrous does deliver a very hefty torque curve very early in the RPM's...

It isn't impossible that a fully stripped Tiburon can make a mid-13 pass when running this kind of power. The unlikely parts are the transmission living through it, and a couple of his claims in his setup.
