<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (zoned019)</div><div class='quotemain'>you know how to sport shift right? and if you use the ebrake in the beginning (although this takes more skill) it will probably help you more than just putting both pedals to the floor.

put your ect on power
take overdrive off
shift into L
pull ebrake up all the way (14 clicks?)
put gas pedal to the floor
when the light turns green, let the ebrake down fast and keep the gas to the floor
when you're at about 6000rpm shift into 2
when you're at about 6000rpm again shift into D
when you're at about 6000rpm a 3rd time put overdrive on

that is how to accelerate fastest with stock automatic transmission
oh yeah, and neutral drops are BAAAAAAAAAAAAADDDDD</div>

NO! WRONG!
1st of all you cant floor your automatic while you are holding handbrake, you will spin, thats what I did on my elantra to warm up my tires. 2nd of all you will not accelerate faster by shifting manually automatic transmission, i've tried it more than once, and tried it at the track, it seems faster, but in the end results are a lot worse if you just let it shift by itself! and when you mess with your transmission like that, you f*ck it up!

basically it depends on how cheap you can find parts for the conversion.

I find if you let your foot off the gas and tramp it again just before the shift it will also shift harder than normal...thats what i do with my automatic when i drag race....also i just sit at the start line and floor it on the last green light

i have a trick i always do: pay attention to the side of the intersecting lights. floor it when you see the corner of the light on the bisecting street hit yellow. you get a 2 second lead off the bat. it's perfectly fair because by the time your light hits green, you're already in full swing lol.gif

does anybody know if you need a level 10 with a turbo :?: ?

Default rd1 shop manual?

google search pwns you. wink.gif

http://www.levelten.com/

if you want a chance of your auto surviving with anything over 180whp, you're gonna need to send it to level ten.

I think this trick does help, but it also ruins your auto tranny. I did that, and when I was changing oil in my tranny and unscrewed the bolt, a whole lot of metal dust, or w/e you wanna call it, drained down, so basically all of these times I was shaving metal off my transmission....
