But the computers that could run DOS (barely) cost over $3000 at the time. This is on a pocket PC, that is about 1/8 the price and fits in your pocket. LOL

Look what I found, a bluetooth serial adapter. Plug this into the SMT6 and have bluetooth linkup to the Pocket PC!

Holy friggin' shizznit. That is cool. The SMT6 is definitely getting better by the second. But get this. You get to buy a pocket computer, and you can cordlessly mess around with your car's engine management system. How cool is that?

Good lord man.

So, with all of this, you could have a CORDLESS tuning option in your glovebox.

WOW.

I wonder if you could run that with the Pocket Dyno software...

Hmm... REAL TIME TUNING.

It's definitely interesting. Keep us posted on your progress Java. THis is definitely the way I'll head when I get some cake together.

How does that pocket dyno stuff work REZMAN? Almost like the g-tech device that judge's your 1/4 mile times, g's and all that?

Just a little update I guess. I did a little bit of searching and found this.

I was interested in having an OBDII Reader incorporated into the Pocket PC, plus have the SMT6 programs running on it. I emailed a guy at digimoto.com, and he said that they have had "compatability issues" with the Axim. They suggested the Compaq/HP iPaq.

Anyone hear anything good, bad, or otherwise about the iPaq? Seems the same to me, I just see numbers, and the features seem to be comparable. IMO they should work all the same with the programs Java found no??

I used to have an IPAQ and loved it.

They would all work on the ipaq as well. The compatibility issues are probably because the axim is so new. I am sure they will come around. You get SO much more for your money with the Axim.
