So, yesterday I went to Fry's Electronics and "rented" a portable scope so I can see some of the ECU signals for a project I'm working on. I have a question however - I'll be changing the timing, will I hurt anything if I retard the timing at idle, say, 10 degrees? Also, for those that have messed with timing, does changing timing more than 7 degrees throw a CEL right away?
