Yay! Glad it's gone.
Any filter is fine. I just find what's on sale at Auto Zone and get their synthetic oil/filter combo for like $35. I've used just about all the brands out there, and they all seem to do the same. Just got the Mobile 1 high mileage oil and filter which promises to go about 15k miles.

NO! any filter is NOT fine. Hyundai has a TSB very specifically stating this. Specifically the cheapest FRAM filter is infamous for causing oil starvation (which causes ticking) on the Hyundai Beta engine.
The OEM filter is a GOOD filter. It is a very common troubleshooting part to check whether different brand oil filters are causing valvetrain noise. Use it with confidence.

I had this problem on my Tiburon but it seems because I added some 10w30 I randomly found in the yard. It probably clogged the oil spouts somewhere (forget the technical term). Got an oil change and it went away for good.

The Hyundai filter, from the dealer service desk, with crush washer, is cheaper than the fram filter at walmart.
Which one are you going to buy?
I pick Hyundai.
Give your dealer a chance, most have awesome prices on everything, and are more than happy to help you getwhat you need.
The myth that dealer is ALWAYS more expensive is just that, a myth.

^^^ Just got the sale coupon thing from my local Hyundai dealer for an oil and filter change. Wanted $38. I can get 5 quarts and a filter for $32. And it's synthetic. Would be closer to $20 if I got traditional oil which the dealer would use.
And I've been using the on-sale filter from AutoZone for 160,000 miles. Even used the Fram once or twice. Still running strong... Only ticking I've ever had was because my oil ... was low.
