It's not really a "concensus", it's a "TSB", or "Technical Safety Bulliten".

LOL

The DaeSungs were poorly made, and fail. Do some searching, you'll see good info.

Once you feel it stop "pulling" at around 4500rpm, can you go much higher in the rpms than that? When my cat was all clogged up it drove normal just like you say yours does, but at around 4k-4.5k rpms there was no power, and it would barely hit 6k rpms if i pushed it.

Well then i think your cat is fine. After i fixed my cat my car was back to normal again, but the past 2 or 3 days ive been noticing the same thing you are. it just doesnt feel right around those rpms. If we can figure this out its helping 2 people now i guess laugh.gif

You drove a faster car, didn't you? Now you are jaded.

But seriously, see if you can arrange a ride in another car with a similar level of modifications, just to see if it's the normal "coulda had a V8" feeling you get and you're just now noticing it.

Oh, i know the v8 feeling.lol

2 firebirds, a camaro, and a mustang were my last 4 rides

But to answer your question. No its not from driving something else and then getting in the tib. its just the tib isnt hitting its peak performance. Its by no means a serious problem, but i like my vehicles to be running in the best condition possible.

just another note that may shed some light.....the car has 130k on it........what are routine things that need changed in that period? i have just done plugs and wires, and an 02 sensor about a year ago. other than that, i can recall anything "major" or out of the ordinary routine maint.

If that's miles, you're up for timing belt #2, with a water pump this time. Fuel filter might be your whole problem, have you ever changed it?

Change your fuel filter and your problems will magically vanish, you havent changed it yet because its no fun to change.

Try checking your map sensor as well. I had the same issue before and it got worse tell the car started to missfire like crazy. Come to find out my map was going out. Replaced it and drove fine for 6 months before my car was vandalized.
