Thinking about boosting
So, after around the 1st of the new year, I'll be getting a decent chunk if change. Considering buying another engine and boosting. Does anyone have a site with a full turbo setup, or do I need to piece it all together? And any tips? thanks guys. It's a 2001 Tiburon 2.0 5speed.

SharkRacing sells a full kit for like $4k. It uses the oem Evo 8/9 turbo. From what the rep I talked to, you can use it without cracking the internals or upgrading injectors if you keep it moderate to low boost. It has a manual boost controller and I believe goes up to 25psi.

Its time consuming and a bit more expensive (in the short term) but I, like you, personally like the idea of building a turbo motor rather than just slapping extra power onto an aged motor. Since betas com cheap its just a great way to start the project. Plus you have time and availability to address some of the potentially unforeseen weaknesses in the motor. And please, please, please if your going to buy a motor to build don't cut corners. There's really no need to. Just get a good set of low comp pistons, sometimes you can find a set in the marketplace with low or no use for a lot less than market value. Address the fueling and fuel controller properly. Run the popper oil taps, keep it cool, etc... Basically a full rebuild. No need to go crazy just play it safe. 
I'm also a big stickler for transmission mods. They're easy enough to replace, and cheap but if you're going to do this right I say get some kind of shot peen or cryo work done (extra $150-200) to backup all of that work your doing to the motor.

Building the motor out of the car also means that you get to have a car while you are in the build.

Personally I think the beta engine is one of the toughest motors Hyundai ever build. I'm still on Stock Internal on my 2000 Tiburon with 167 000km and running 15 psi at 299whp (373ish HP).
