I just did a motor/tranny swap and now my strut bar won't clear the motor. It seems that the new motor is sitting about an inch higher than before. I swapped in a Beta I out of a 2001 Tib. It's a Shark Racing bar that I had in already with the old motor and no problems. I used all factory mounts. It's hitting the intake. Any ideas? I'm in Farmington, MO about an hour south of St. Louis. Here's a pic of the curvature bar.

Hey guys, I told him to bring this over from HP, can anyone help him out?
I have no clue why it'd be sitting higher.

No clue, the beta didn't change at all from your 98 to the 01......and neither did the chassis....got me stumped.
Maybe the mounts are bent???????
I really dont know.

no sh!t.... its gotta be something at the mounts man.... were the mounts on the two engines any different from each other... (i.e. height, width, anything different between them)... just because most stuff is the same, this doesnt mean that EVERYTHING is the same

Well, if worst comes to worst man, I would sell your bar or just trash it, keep the mounts. Get one cusom made.

yea.... getting one made wouldnt be a real big deal..... and at least that way you could get it the way you want it... maybe add a little custom styling that no one has..... custom is always cooler

umm CDOG, think about this......The chassis, engine block, suspension, tranny, and the rest of the drivetrain are all the same. Why would hyundai use different engine mounts if all of the above are EXACTLY the same?????
