As absurd as this sounds, I was talking to a guy who told me that there are actual FWD spoilers, meaning spoilers that help put more traction to the front wheels... im asuming this is done by reversing the angle of the wing itself... I tired searching on here and got nothing, google search tells me its not possible but im thinking in theory, it kinda sounds possible, anyone mind verifying this?

Why does it sound strange?
If a spoiler has a function on the rear, it sure will have it on the front. Perfect example is Formula 1. At those speeds, you need every inch of your car to exert some sort of downforce to prevent you "flying" off the road.
Spoiler benefit to our cars = 0

anything that would be fixed to the rear of the car and be able to create downforce on the front would at the same time create lift on the rear, and that is no bueno.
you use canards and splitters on the front for downforce on the front wheels.

im with tibby01 on this one spoilers have no function but style on a fwd car. there would have to be alot of lift to cause any downforce on the front of the car from the back so if you reversed it I dont think it would work

whoa, easy there bud. i never said they dont have a purpose. high speed FWD road cars most definately can benefit from a spoiler to help with downforce on the rear, in additon to canards and splitters on the front.

Tibby01 was just trying to say that there is virtually no benefit of having a spoiler for performance uses on our cars, not that spoilers are useless in general.

A good front airdam is basically like a spoiler for your front end. Either way spoilers are completely cosmetic until you get up to about 90+ mph at witch point it doesn't really matter if your FWD or RWD you need downforce all the way around the vehicle to keep as much air out from underneath as possible.

This is probably the type of spoiler he was talking about
A <u>front</u> spoiler
Spoilers can be used to reduce drag btw, thats performance.
