I got some new spark plug wires and went to put them on today...the wires are too thick to fit in the stock spots for the wires, and are a little longer than the stock ones, is it ok to not have them follow those spots? It came with one peice to separate all four wires, and it doesn't appear that any of them are touching each other. Also with how they are right now, I won't be able to be the spark plug cover on without it pushing down on them, is it ok to do that? If not is it ok to just not put the spark plug cover back on? I really appreciate any help and advice you guys can give me, thanks.

it's ok to not put them in the little holders.

i would NOT recomend that you install the spark plug cover over them-... if it's going to squish them.

what kind of wires?

i have PRD, plus they're thick and didn't seem to fit at first but with a little push they went in ok. go ahead and push them in the inserts, force them a little and they'll push in. then put the cover over to hold them in place. i haven't had any problems for over 2 years now.

keep the wires running in the same general pattern. It keeps engine interference to a minimum on the stereo according to sites i've found.

So there is a method to the madness then DTN on how they want them routed? I though that car mfg's put a capacitor or something in the engine bay for the radio or was that just on older cars?

something you may or may not know, when driving on the highway search the AM band of the radio, your car will have its own radio station according to the RPM of the engines. Factoid for everyone, most people knew this already.

Look around for Redz DIY on getting the PRDs to fit right. They can fit. Let us know how those wires are. There were some really nice ones in the FS forum that you could have went with nana.gif

I used a round "rat tail" file to open up the slots the wires run in. As long as you leave the opening smaller than the middle (where the wire actually runs) they will snap in and stay put

^^^
Don't even bother doing that, just get some pliars and snap off the INNER 2 clips on each location, they'll all fit perfectly and not get damaged anymore.

Do these actually increase horsepower?

Or at least by any noticable amount?

I read about the ones on K-spec and it sais that they do.
