Can't explain it but ever since I tightened the Alternator belt that has been squeeling like a Bi*ch, the car feels alot zippier.

Butt dyno's up and it's alot more fun to drive through the gears on the Expressway.

Its been warmer here but besides that, I'm not sure why the car feels this way. I've been driving with a clogged cat for the past 6 months. Nothings changed and the CEL is still on.

Hmmmm....

Maybe your cat "unclogged" itself? You should reset the ecu and see if you get another cel.

it is the warmer weather. All winter my car has felt slow and my miliage was down around 26 or 27 mpg.. now that it is warming up, it feels faster and my MPG is back in the low 30s.

I know they heavily oxidize the gas, but I wouldn't think that would decrease performance as well.

How would warmer weather affect the car in such a positive manner? If anything, I'd think it should be the opposite, with colder air being sucked in.

Don't remember the code, just remember it reading a clogged cat. When the Hotshot headers come out, I'm going to have to get new o2 sensors as well.

maybe your gas tank is overpressurized? haha that would be cool. kind of like NOS. thats what would happen to me, sometimes the cank would become so pressurized i'd have kicks of speed,or bursts of speed until all that pressure was relieved.

get that CEL checked out man. alternator shouldn't have anything to do with it really.

Here in ABQ they oxegenate the gas during the winter months too, it helps emissions and therefore smog.

Unfortunately, your milage dips below 30 and you lose some power with it.

They just did ours back to normal about a month ago, wow, it's nice to have my car back.

I'll say.

I tried to see how noticable the difference was today. I nearly touched 6K rpms. That's never happened before (thanks to the clogged cat).

I don't know what's happened, but the car feels like it's been modified or something. Great feeling.

Now, if only I understood what oxidized fuel does to reduce performance???

Oxygenate and oxidize are two different things wink1.gif
And pull yer cat off and knock it around to unclog it or replace it before something really bad happens!
