i want to convert to beta 2 head non-cvvt and i remember reading somewhere that they
dont use hla's.

i believe dentist did a swap to a beta 2 head non-cvvt on a beta 1 block and info or links
to some information would be greatly appreciated.
i just cant seem to find what im looking for i tried searching beta 2* head
otherwise im pretty much retarded with this search engine.

Did a little more research and i think the head i would need would be from
-2001 elantra 2.0 << i dont think they made cvvt in that year
-2003 tiburon 2.0 << i dont think they made cvvt in that year

so those head dont have hla's they have mla's correct?

You'll need a Beta2 head from a 01-03 Elantra or 03 Tiburon and yes they are MLAs.

You'll need to remove the oil restrictors in the Beta 1 block so that the beta 2 head gets the flow it needs.

I think that's about it...oh you'll need the correct head bolts and head gasket as well.

so am i going to be using 3ply or 2ply head gasket, and should i get head bolts for the 01 Elantra?

I only remember seeing one oil restrictor in the front of the block on the top right in the middle is that the only one?
