I'm not sure if US is the same, but Canada requires all cars to have running light while car is in operation. (high beam is dimmly lit)

does anyone know how to disable it?

I'm about to purchase an HID conversion kit, and running light would damage/shorten life of the bulb...

I do not know about canada.. but it is illegal to run HIDs as high beams.. You could always run that circut elseware though, maybe to a "City light" or even your turnsignals.

Just out of curiosity.. is it possible to just drop that relay into a US car and get DRLs? Might be a good thing to have in the glove box for those of us who go to canada on occasion.

Well, as we have US Spec cars, it shouldn't matter if you go to Canada and don't have DRL's.

BUT, you bring up a GOOD POINT...

What kind of relay goes in there? I'll get one and give it a try.

I actually looked over the fuse box this weekend looking at the fog light relay area. After looking over ti I found that if your car did not come with fog lights stock then you dont have the relay or the wiring for the relay to connect to. I would assume it is the same for the DRL.

sticking a relay in there will not work.

its a standard bosch automotive relay, but there is so much other crap you need to get DRLs, specifically the entire DRL control module.
