Removing the Cruise Control

Re: GT Tech Front Lip - FINALLY GOT IT!!
Has anyone ever removed the cruise control out of their car?
It seems like it would be rather simply to do but I'm curious is there any risk of hurting the car by taking it out? For me, all it is is extra weight and space.

Removing the Cruise Control
I've been running my car without cruise control for 2years now..only because my throttle body is not cruise control compatable. As far as removing it, I know that it consist of cable that connects to the throttle linage and a few sensors. I don't think you're gonna experience much in the way of weight reduction if you remove these things but it's your car.

Re: trans cooler/ filtration
woohoo.. triple post there! Seriously, what is there to gain by removing it? If you are after weight reduction, there are more easily removed, heavier things you can pull from the car. Floor mats, underhood insulation, the ten million miles of foam that hyundai wrapped the wiring harness in... Personally, I like my cruise, it keeps me out of trouble when driving. Unless I am playing or ona road with a LOT of heavy traffic, I use the cruise ALL the time.. and that includes roads that only have a speed limit of 25mph.

Re: gauge cluster
Okay, put aside the weight
I just don't want it
Why have it sitting there when I will NEVER use it. I enjoy driving, not letting a computer drive me. And since I guess nobody has any positive things to say about my post, then I'll look elsewhere.

Redz, it's a GTR. How could I get my cruise back? The throttle body didn't come with an cruise control linkage for the cable. If you could show me a way to get it, I would appreciate it.
Legend, if you don't want cruise control, just don't use it..it would be easier. I don't think any of us are trying to be rude/negative to you or anything.

Re: Get a free Ipod!!!
If you just don't want it, turn off the cruise button.
Duh.
LOL
Cyber, it's easy doode, you just get a new rotor. David can get you one.
Or, you can cheat, and ZIPTIE your cruise cable to your gas cable.
It works.

Re: Wondering whats going on...
Well what I wanted to do was get rid of the Cruise all together and knock out that little button section thing and put my boost guage in there instead, then just re-wire my rear-defroster to somewhere else.
