Eh, oil is like tires, use what is right for your driving conditions and habits. I use 15W-50 year'round. It's rarely below freezing, the car is garaged 90% of the time, and autocross and track days are hard on oil. 5w-30 or 10w-30 is good for most folks. Heavier weight oils hurt your gas milage a bit, btw, so if you switch from 5-30 in winter to 10-40 in summer, you'll get a little less mpg.

Untighten a bolt?

LMAO

You guys are slow, it takes me about 10 minutes to change mine and I don't have to jack it up anymore...

I'll do a writeup on my secret when I change it next month. I've got that same Fram System.

it's funny reading this...oil changes are part of my work, so it's just weird to me reading how some ppl aren't familiar w/ it.

for our cars. the oil filter part number usually involves 4459. sometimes theres a 1 in the beginning. if you haven't replaced the drainplug...it's a 17mm. a new gasket is recommended every few

as far as tightening the filter....too tight isn't always a good thing. once it's snug...turn it a half more. then you're all set.

our vehicles are so easy to do on the ground. some vehicles just make it so hard to do things yourself. it's a very easy thing to do...

I used 10w30 Mobile 1.. and the K&n filter gold... I can do it in about twenty minutes (with walking away for ten to let it drain compleatly) without jacking the car up.. I just lay under the bumper and let my hands do the work and feeling.. I also like to have let the car sit for a couple of hours or all night before hand.. just so I can get the maximum amount of oil out..
