Pulleys Are In...except One
#1
Just spent two hours installing the pulley set with my mechanic.
Underdrive pulley wasn't too hard. The larger pulley was a b**** simply because we couldn't fit our hands in there to mount it. We ended up raising the engine a few inches. Make matters worse the smaller pulley (water pump I believe) wouldn't fit. The stock one was splined after all (DAMN!!)
Out of all the mods I've done so far, this one had to be the least impactful. I can hardly feel any difference other than the engine seems smoother. Butt dyno's not giving me anything.
Anyway, I can't complain. My stock belts were worn to shreds (literally) so this was a "it can't hurt" mod.
Now, what do I do about the smallest pulley?

TIbbytib had a thread on what to do with that.
Get it on far enough to thread the nut then slowly ratchet the nut down and it will carve the splines onto the pulley.
Can I get your stock pulleys now?

Hey screwdriver and redzman
I have a few questions concerning the sr pulley set...
Two of my friends orderd the full sr pulley set too (1 rd1, 1 rd2).
We wanted to install them on the rd2 but...
power steering pulley doesn't fit b/c it was splined (stock wasn't)
crank pulley is much smaler then the stock one
water pump we didn't even tried after all
1st:
Is the crank pulley an underdrive one? On there site they didn't mention anything?
2nd:
How can we make the splined power steering pulley fit with my not splined oem system?
3rd:
Water pump pulley seemed to be two pulleys... a small one which connects to the power steering pump and a bigger one which connects to the crank and alternator.
Are these two pulleys bolted together an can be unbolted to change the bigger one?
Are there differences between the rd2 and the rd1 we need to know once we install them on the other car?
Thanks in advance
Ian

Yup. Leave it to SR.

Change your power steering pump to the kind you need, or get a new pulley.

This is what I've been trying to figure out for some time. You have the first RD2 I've heard of with a NOT splined Power Steering pulley.
Here's a question for you. What kind of belt does your pulley take? The OEM one.
