Vehicle: 1999/Hyundai/Tiburon
I believe my 1999 Hyundai Tiburon FX is the best maintained tiburon in the USA.
-Oil Changes every 4,500 Miles
-Oil Anaylsis every 20,000 miles
-Use Fuel injection cleaner every 10,000 miles
-Use strictly Shell gasoline
-Wash every week, Wax every other week
-102,000 miles
-One problem, Door actuator failure.
-I refuse to shift at over 3,000 RPM besides in an Emergency
-Engine is extremely smooth and quiet at idle
-Engine is smooth at highway RPM speed
-All fluids are new except the Clutch Fluid
-TWO Engine Flushes (With non-Corrosive chemicles like Seafoam, Gunk)
-30,000 Mile Maintenance accordance with the Owners Manual
-60,000 mile Maintenance accordance with the Owners Manual
-Majority of Parts are Hyundai Geniune
-I thought I had 2nd gear syncro problem, cured using a GL-4 Synthetic gear oil instead of GL-5, Transmission shifting very smooth
-Still on Original Clutch
-Interior vaccuumed and cleaned every month, I'm a none smoker
-Stock Speakers and Stock Hyundai Premium sound system
-NO RATTLES(Which are nictorously known in Tiburons)
-All Original Exterior lights still functioning
-No Rust, Couple of scratches and a few dents (from people opening there door)
In need of repair:
-still Functionable, but bent, rear shock
-Passenger side Dome light
-Gas gauge light

Right on...I take care of my tib, but even if I wanted to I couldn't find enough time to do all that. (i know its a bad excuse but..)

I shift at like 5k or redline probably like 10 times a day just for fun. nana.gif

Word. My compression still at stock specs, not a single psi lower, so I have no problems with that.
I clean my interior more than you. cool.gif

HAHA, niice.
It's ridculous how many times in a 3 month period I change my oil..
I do a LOT of driving, and 40% of that is hard.. But I know how to take care of the tib so the engine's got it's poop in a group..
Plus I get free oil/filters so why not..
My car runs the same if not BETTER, than when I first got it (90,000K to god knows how mnay now... my guess is 140000K

Ahh Crap. I forgot about Compression test. I haven't done that yet. Oh welll.. maybe I can't prove I have the best maintained tib without that.

I change my oil more often usually 2.5 to 3k (syn Mobil 1), but because I race and the revs are high for a while at a time. Yea no way I stay below 3k rpms at all. My car runs great excpet for some rattles because of the loudness of exhaust and intake.

i can tell you that i have seen 99% of the total surface area in my car. you find things starting to oxidize that you didnt even know you had in your car. so you have rust, you just cant see it, and its not structurally important.
after i get my tib back together i can say i have looked over and fixed/made better just about everything in the car.

If I had my tib from the beginning of its birth then I believe it would have been one of the best maintained tibs in the US. When I had my nissan I did oil changes every 3000 miles or less using mobil 1 synthetic. Repaired all minor problems, did flushes when needed, every little noise I heard I made sure it was nothing serious..I was so meticulous with that car and it ran perfect.
The five other people who owned my tib before me didnt care for it at all. Theres scratches all over my car (which just looks like abuse) and I had to do so much maintenance work on my car when I got it and it only had 38k. I fixed it all and care for my car a lot but I guarentee if people maintained it, i wouldnt have as many problems as I had. Pisses me off when people dont care for the car..its like why do you even own it.
