ok every is talking about swaping pistons from 2.0 to 1.8 to higher compression im kinda a engine noob and was wondering would the higher compression increase horsepower or decrease and would you just pull these pistons from a 1.8L tiburon or what?

Its supposed to increase power, but you would have to get some tuning done as well as the engine is more likely to knock
and yes you would just use 1.8 pistons from a junker if they were in good shape; but i think your supposed to use a XD head gasket too but i may be wrong.
(for the record lower compression pistons actually decrease power on its own but is done in high powered F/I engines to allow higher boost without knocking)

Putting 1.8L Pistons and an XD head gasket in a 2.0L engine increases compression from 10.3:1 to 11:1, subsequently increasing horsepower. A search would show you a recent thread on the subject.

I got mine from Kspec. Higher compression increases HP, but you really need to know what's going on to do this. I'll probably be doing mine this weekend if everything works out. Then we'll see what kind of difference it really makes. I've never talked to anyone who's actually done it before, so I'm kind of winging it.

You may have to use a higher octane gas aswell probably 89 or 91, to prevent knocking. Or just tune it right and you can use 87
Planning on doing this soon aswell
