Performance Suggestions?

i'm good at shifting, ive been racing ever since i bot it and i havent been beat by a 4 cylinder yet (hondas around my town, not big competition) this is my first big race that i have to win. i was thinking about nos too, so in case i go that way i bought a couple of gauges for monitoring the engine (a/f ratio and fuel pressure) he has the 2 door by the way. i think what i might do is go for the bbtb, i have the cold air intake, the 4-2-1 headers, high flow cat with the exhaust system im gettin, and see how that does. i like the sounds of nos and i know i oculd win that way. i heard wet system is the safest way to go so i figured maybe a NX efi stage i wet system and only run a 50 shot. im racing middle of this summer and i think i can pull of the cash for all this, wish me luck laugh.gif

try to get airram instead, and just bore your stock TB. $300 is way overpriced for a bbtb. eventually we WILL get a domestic one that's cheap, there's a lot of people working on that project as we speak. i'm waiting, i think that's the smartest thing to do. the airram is only 200 more and will give you better gains, plus you can get your stock tb bored out for cheap to 58mm, that's a 4mm upgrade from stock, and only 2mm less than the aftermarket ones you will buy for $300.
is this pontiac the supercharged one? those run better than 16 flat..
what is the 1/4 time for a stock automatic tib? (jw)
if you're racing him yes nitrous would help you a lot more, but with the risk that is involved and the fact that nitrous is only fun if you have a long open road (or track) .. n/a mods let you have power always.

yeah, the Grand AM is nothing, I had a 98 4cyl. and it would keep up with the 99+ 6cyl. Not to mention I was and still am part of a predominately Grand AM Club. With a CAI, and Exhaust you will smoke a stock GA.

i agree i prefer the mods for use all the time over nos with just a shot when i need it. i want to get more it racing, im fairly new to it but i am investing in the long run. btw what do u mean when u say ram air? i appreciate the help though i definetly have a better idea for some upgrades. any suggestions on headers? so far the ones im leaning towards is the ones on shark racing 4-2-1 for $380

OBX in general makes crappy stuff. Their headers are okay, but definately are bottom of the barrel for quality.
