<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Dweet)</div><div class='quotemain'>It'll be a 2 digit number. 35, 54, 68 are three that come to my mind at the moment.</div> I honestly have no idea what 54 and 68 are... and batteries, unfortunately, are my speciality. lol... most common sizes are for Ford: groups 58, 58r (59), 65. GM: 75, 78, 79, 100 (last 2 for GM batteries under the back seat.) Mopar: 34, 65 (65 generally in Jeep). Honda is 35 except Civics up to 01 which is 51 or 51r (52). Toyota likes 35.

lol. thats all i can think of... and i'm sure NONE of you care tongue.gif

Mad Machine, can you post up the info about where you bought that battery and how much you paid for it again? I want to get one.

I bought it direct from the makers...

http://www.odysseybatteries.com/

Just have to give them a call. I think it was about $130 for the 975 CCA battery.. the aluminum mount was about $105, but well worth it when you get your hands on it. The 680 CCA battery is about half the size of mine and is the battery that Sport Compact Car is running in their Sylvia Project.

thnx for the info guys, still a little confused... So if i bought the dry cell small battery i would need to replace the stock battery holder? I was just going for optima because i have heard a lot of good things reviews from people who have gotten the yellow tops. i do like the idea of a small one , lightweight and the fact that it opens up the engine bay is nice too..

If the small battery is only $130 it's cheaper than a yellow top too they range around ~$200 or so.

yes, the advantages of the Optima are that it is a plug and play kind of deal.. yank the old batter, drop in the ultima, MAYBE alter the mount a bit, and connect the positive and negative terminals.. and you are off.

The hawker odessy requires more work unless you jump up to the 1200cca battery.. that is close to the same size as stock.

The advantages of both batteries.. being a dry cell you CAN mount them anyway you want and they can be shipped via UPS because there is no hazardous chemicals to leak...

If you wanted to mount your battery in the trunk. I would definatly go with the Hawker-odessy, it is much smaller and the 675 cca battery would probably fit inside the spare tire rim with room to spare.

Mad, can you take some measurements with the mount and see if it WILL fit? You just gave me a good idea.
