Brought up in another thread, I'd never considered this before.
http://www.filtermag.com/tech.php
I've got a brass quick drain for an oil plug, and am upgrading to a better model, so I'd like to have a magnet somewhere, and these sound good.
Any one have a set of these (or a generic equivalent, I'm not keen on spending $60 on some magnets, LOL)?
I'll post up some other versions and Ebay it in a second.

Check that one out. The videos are intriguing, to say the least.

And only a few bucks.
This kind here almost concerns me. A BALL magnet that you drop INTO the filter?
Couldn't that restrict flow, or worse?

I was just looking at these the other day. Seems like a good idea.
Thats a huge price difference though almost 60 for one and 6 for the ebay one. So is the first really worth 60 and if the ebay one is supposed to be so good why only a few bucks?
Being budgeted (cheap) like I am I'd have to wonder why not buy a couple really strong magnets and just stick them on the filter?
Would it be any different to buy a raw magnet not marketed as anything special and use that?
As far as that ball one I would never put anything inside my filter.

a magnet i drop in my filter everytime would be lost the next time i changed my oil, IMO.
making that magnet wrap would be easy, you got a wife that sews, lol.
nah seriously though, i use a magnet off of one of those refrigerator clamps that broke, the good metal clip kind. I don't know if it works that good but its just a peace of mind thing and it stays on, even on the grippy part of a fram filter.

I use one of these bad boys on the 944:

Its about as strong as some of my earth magnets. Tough I can't say that I've seen much positive reaction in that car from using this, but after a few more mods it'll probably show.
One could probably assemble a few of these in a casing to equate the same for ye olde Tibby:

I'm not sure if it'll really matter which pole you chose. But the more I actually look at the diagrams it seems the largest ones (45 degrees) have a 2 inch diameter. But this package would have more than enough strips to make at least a half unit:

For $9 I am tempted. But I'm getting the look of impending doom from the female....
