Guys, he's stopping to CHECK OUT HIS CAR and make sure nothing's going wrong. Since he didn't have a way of knowing what CEL it was before, that was actually pretty smart.
And I don't think going 85mph or 70mph (besides fuel economy and law-wise) is really much different.
