N/A Tuning for our cars
Hi guys. I heard from a friend that heard from a friend that our cars don't like N/A mods. Can anybody confirm this and give reasoning as well? Or, refer me to the thread that talks about it. I couldn't find it.

Heh, just search for N/A on the forums. Let's just put it this way. N/A on the Beta's will only get you up to about 175 HP. Little bit more if you really go extreme. A basic turbo will get you above 220 easily.

I think it's more opinion than anything else. If the car has gains with a mod, then it responded well to it in my opinion.

what mods do you htink you need to get there?
CAI

Hi-Cams

high flow cat
catback
ground wires
Light flywheel

With all those mods you should be at least 175WHP? Or not?
The thing is it seems you can "reach" that mark, but no matter what you do to your engine, you're not going to pass that mark or something similar.
Anyway, because of lack of money, and maintenance difficulties (and that there's only one dyno where I live and it's expensive to get there everytime to tune the turbo) I am going to stay N/A. I'm not unhappy though, for what I paid for the car, it's handling, torque and acceleration, it's quite a good ride.

I would think the basic bolt-ons (Intake, Header, Exhaust, 61mm TB, Port-matched IM) running with either 272 camshafts or 13:1 pistons with a little head porting could get 175whp N/A. Tuned well.
