ok so i think the reason i am having bad gas mileage in my tib is because of my intake( AEM) is cut in half.
how and why it happened: a guy who had the car before me but the AEM CAI so he could put on the AEM bypass filter on. well ofter the bypass filter bit the dust(pretty much fell apart) i took it off and i just put the end filter on where the bypass was.(WAI) the filter sits right behind the radiaitor. i am going to put the rest of the piping on once the AEM dryflow filter i ordered comes in. my MPG is in the 20-25 city with the 1.8 ecu and a ground wire kit.
So can it really kill my MPG with the filter sitting where it is?

Well, warm air is less dense then cold air. I don't think that would matter all that much though. Burning more dense air burns more fuel. Your problem is probly maintenance item related. Check plugs, wires, pcv.

^ditto. Aem intake shouldn't cause that because the engine is using less power to perform. Change spark plugs to NGK iridium, PRD wires, get a new intake because same thing happened to me and I lost the other end of intake on the road.
25 mpg is normal for auto. Also do fuel injector cleaner and intake manifold cleaner.

True, No reason for the 93. I would clean the MAF to.
And the B12 works somewhat. But to get the full cleaning the system needs to be run on only fuel injector cleaner through a machine.

how did you do your math? you should get an obd scantool so you can get some readings. old o2 sensors maybe lowering fuel economy too. it could also be your brakes/rotors/handbrake, engine mileage, wheel alignment, old struts, old tires...etc.
you could also save more gas by buying a fiberglass hood to take away 60 some pounds.
