The thing your header came with is not a catalytic converter.

95% sure OBX headers come with a racing cat. Which is a straight pipe. Which will not work. If I am wrong, then yes you can run with that cat.

Slow down doode, you've asked and been answered like 8 times now. NONE OF THE AFTERMARKET STUFF COMES WITH A REAL CATALITIC CONVERTER.

They come with a RACING PIPE, or TEST PIPE.

You'll need to get a CATYLITIC CONVERTER to go with it.

ok dont mean to hijack or anything, & maybe this could help mb1604 on his exhaust quest, but i was also looking for an exhaust...
perticularly(spelling?) the xspower engineback setup on ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=33630

it says RACE CAT and it has a DOWN PIPE. RACE CAT = HIGHFLOW CAT??
Will i be safe to pass emissions?

Anyone else here get this? I'd love to have a quick review... laugh.gif: They sell quite a few of them.

Like Redz just stated, it's not a cat..buy a Carsound (economical but does the job) to replace that fake cat.

Okay, this is the last time.

THAT IS A TEST PIPE, NOT A CATYLITIC CONVERTER!!!!

Jeasus freaking christ.

That's ALSO a MOTERIA EXHAUST SYSTEM, look at the exhaust tip.

Come on guys. Pay the freak attention.

Go get your exhaust, and your headers, then BUY A FREAKING CATYLITIC CONVERTER and get it installed.

END OF STORY.

Get a HIGH FLOW cat. Carsound, Catco, anything, but a TEST PIPE, or TEST CAT, or RACING CAT, is not a cat, it's just a way to keep them from including one for more money.

You don't buy a cat that will fit the space exactly. You take it to the exhaust shop and they weld on another section of 2.5inch piping or whatever and make it fit, or chop off a little piping.
