Default Re: Shaved doorhandles and Remote Popper

I have had my 98 Tib for about 3 months now, and am completely happy with it. It took me a little while to learn shift points and all that, but now that I have fully mastered it, I am ready to start upgrading. The first thing I did was add a short shifter to make the tranny a little more crisper. The next thing I want to do is up its power, both horsepower and torque. I would like to take my Tib and make 200-225 HP, have torque all the way through the powerband. But, I want to do this without having to completely gutting the engine (doing a cam swap and other non-invasive things would be ok). I want to be able to use as many bolt on parts as I can to achieve this. I would like to not go the turbo route if I did not have to. Also, I would like to do it for less than $1000. Is my plan even feasible. Please leave comments and suggestions, I am all ears.

Sorry man, you are not going to see 200hp out of a NA tib with $1000.

You won't get 200 HP out of a Supercharger setup.

So no, you can't do it man.

Do some searching, you'll see what you need to do to get up in that HP range and STAY there.

WIth only $1000 and wanting to stay N/A and raching 200 HP in not feasible. You will receive only limited amounts of HP while spending oodles of $$ to stay N/A. Your only hope of gaining that much HP while saving the most $$ is to go turbo. Do a search, its been covered NUMEROUS amounts of time. the ratio of HP:$$ N/A is so much less than the ratio of HP:$$ F/I

Default Re: turbo kit + clutch

Thanks for the info. I got to reading the forum some more and kinda answered my questions, and then you guys followed it up. Once I get a few more pieces on my car, I will start prepping for a turbo. I want to keep the engine internals intact, will I be able to do that witha turbo, or will I need to do some upgrading. How much boost, and what turbo would you recommend to do this?

I think that this was covered a few times at the old site. Check out:

I have heard that your internals would be fine with 7 pounds. You may need to upgrade your fuel system though.

Default Re: more advice from pros... =)

well he was boosting, the stock tib came with 240cc and you'd need an AFC to control the larger injectors so you dont flood out your engine. But the pistons and rods held up is what iw as saying
