I was thinking, is there a way to wire your LED's in your dash/console so that as tachometer goes up the LED's get brighter? Like if you pull dashboard off and run a lead from the wire powering the tach will it make the LED's change brightness? Just curious if anyone had ever tried this. Thanks for the input!

Maybe you can tap into the wire that sends the signal. It might pulsate.

the quickest easiest way to do this would be to buy a tachometer from autozone or ebay and a potentiometer from radio shack. Pull the needle from the tachometer, drill a hole in the center of the potentiometer's dial to match the pin on the tach. Stick them togeter and apply glue liberally. Put 12V or ground into the potentiometer's middle pin and then use the top or the bottom pin, one will increase with RPM the other will decreease. Run 12V or power from either of the end pins from the potentiometer to the devic. It would supply as much power as the potentiometer can handle and be easy enough. I'd probly go with a 50-100 ohm 3W or higher (the more watts the better) potentiometer for something like this.

But ok..if u drive slow or idling wouldnt it mean that the dash is less lightet up? and then again, you would be driving and u would have this thing in your eyes changing colours, well brightness actually..=/
