I just called KFX to make sure they still had them (they did), so I ordered one laugh.gif
It looks soooo nice!
Anyway, now I need some advice on how to do the rest of my exhaust.
My two goals are ---
---- As free-flowing as possible
---- As quite as possible
I know this sounds like an oxymoron but I'm going to try anyway.
I found a nice looking shop about 1 1/2 hours away.
I just called them. Here's the info I got.
1. They can do the whole custom exhaust in a couple of hours (this was really important since the tib is my DD)
2. If I provide my own cat/muffler/flanges they can do pipes/welding/install for $250-300.
I put together this diagram to show what kind of setup I'm currently thinking about.
![](https://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z194/redtibo/Exhaustsetup.jpg)
So I guess my questions are...
1. How good will this setup be for performance?
2. How quite will this setup be?
3. What kind of Cat should I get?
4. What is the best way to build a quite, yet still free flowing exhaust?
Here are some links to the parts I'm considering.
Dynamax Super-Turbo Muffler
Flowmonster High-Flow Cat
Thrush Glasspack
I'm definitely a noob in this area smile.gif Any help would be awesome guys!
Also thanks to Zoned019 for his awesome thread on exhaust setups fing02.gif It's where I got my ideas from.

Magnaflow sounds better than the Dynomax. This is the set-up I had on my Tib and will have on the Elantra:
Muffler:
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.a...mp;autoview=sku
Cat:
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.a...mp;autoview=sku
No resonator. I had a Dynomax bullet, but it didn't quiet the exhaust down at all and cost about 5whp. Just make sure the shop can mandrel bend.don't use crush bent pipe. If they can't do it, get some of these:
Wide radius:
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.a...mp;autoview=sku
Tight radius:
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.a...mp;autoview=sku
BTW, that glasspack you posted is almost 4 feet long. I don't know if that will even fit under your car. If you really want a resonator...

I just recently got this glasspack http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.a...mp;autoview=sku
its 31 inches long and there not that much pipe from the cat to the glasspack or glasspack to the first bend. But it your going under axel maybe it would fit. The first bend that Im talking about on mine to to get it to the passenger side of the car and go over the axel(like stock)

Don't get a thrush, mine messed up within a few miles of installing it. get a brand name cherry bomb.
DaaFisch, that's the same one I got, it works well.

I recommend you also check out the Borla Pro XS muffler. It's cheap and very quiet, even though it's straight-through. I used it to replace my old N1 clone muffler and it made a huge difference in loudness.

I think so, but the Cherry Bomb held up
I think my exhaust setup would be much nicer with a small resonator somewhere in it. Maybe after the glasspack. If you have room, check into adding one.
Don't get a high flow, just get a standard 2.25" pipe cat. My high flow is not efficient enough because our engines do not flow that much into a 2.25" pipe and it dosn't get hot enough unless I get on the highway for an extended period of time. It caused a CEL until I added a spark non-fouler
Btw, your exhaust is larger size size and using the same components/setup as mine with the exception of the muffler. You may want to look into some sound deadening. Mine sounds good after an afternoon with dynamat.

I don't think you'll be that quiet with such a setup.
Got my KFX/Flyryde/Megan (!?) headers on 2 weeks back with a full custom catback.
I absolutely love it!
But it's not quiet...
I have:
Headers - Flex - Cat (with resonator) - resonator - muffler.
It has a really deep tone to it, no buzzin' what so ever, but it's loud-ish in a beautifull way.
On the freeway up to 65-70 mph you'll won't hear a thing. from 75 you'll hear it!
I can still speak in a normal way, so no screaming.
I'll post up a sound clip next week.
