I installed my SAFC2 today and everything seems to be working fine except for the RPMS. Initially I used a wiretap, when it didn't work I busted out the soldering iron. It still is not working. I used the pins listed below.

Pin 47 - RPM Signal - Green Wire on SAFC
Pin 73 - Throttle Position - Gray Wire on SAFC
Pin 41 - Airflow - Yellow and White wires on SAFC
Pin 58 - +12 Volt - Red Wire on SAFC
Pin 55 - Gound - Black and Brown wires on SAFC

What is the problem?

Did you select it in your display settings? What display mode do you have it set at?

I have it where it is supposed to be, but the RPM stays at 0.

With the initial setup I set it like this:

Sensor type
Hot-Wire
1 1

Car Type
4 cyl with the arrow pointing up and right

Did I do anything wrong?

Yeah sounds right, double check your wiring. I know that when I did the install I had some issues with making sure I was tapping the correct wires. Other than that you should be good.

Do you have Digital mode selected as your display mode?

Yes, I set it for digital mode. I will go out and check it again, I checked and triple checked before tapping though.

**UPDATE**
Blah, I tapped the wrong wire. It is very easy to look on one side and go to the other and tap the wrong wire. For future reference, look at the wires around the one you are going to be tapping. If there's a big fat pin next to it on the pin side, there should be a big fat wire next to it on the wire side.

Also, if your RPMS seem really low, check that you have the correct amount of cylinders selected. Mine somehow got switched to 6 and my RPMS were sitting at 500 around idle. By switching it to 4 it brought it up to 800 or so.

Now once I get my Airram and get around to installing it, I will take this thing in for a dyno tuning. Right now it is just some rice factor sitting on my dash. tongue.gif

I figured that's what might have happened. I almost did the same thing. There are just too many wires there.

Good job.

It's pretty cool to be able to see what percentage your throttle and air flow are at while your driving. I need to figure out what some of the other things are for though. The instructions look like they were japanese translated through babblefish. Very hard to follow.

Yeah it's a little tough to read the instructions, very repetative.

Where do you have it mounted? I put mine in the ashtray, I couldn't find a decent spot with that monstrous mount they send with it. LOL

Right now I have it mounted on the top left of my dash, where most people put there aftermarket tachs. It's just going to be there temporarily though. What I want to do is create a custom faceplate for it and mount it underneath my stereo.

hehehe, this is one of the only reasons I entered for May's COTM

I wanted to put it where you have it but didn't want to leave it out in the open.
