Hey. I took my IAC off to clean it, and when I got it off it seems to rattle inside. Also, the whole inside shifts back and forth when i rock it. Should I replace it?

It's a little metal ball valve thingy in there. It should be loose so the solenoid in the gold part can pull it without too much effort. You should be able to move it with a screwdriver or whatever you stick in there. When I was cleaning mine, I was moving the valve (with a screwdriver) with the solvent inside, so it could get deep in the heart of it. I just went and shook the IAC and, yes, the guts did rattle a little. Moving parts rattle, not about to disintegrate rattle.

the main thing is the movability. As long as it turns freely it can do it's job. The only other check is a resistance check Webtech says Terminal 2 and 3 on the IAC should be 10-12.5 OHM. No higher or lower then that range, 11.25ohms +- 1.25 ohms
Here's a thread about all the problems a bad IAC can cause.
