Hallo guys,
I asked before for a solution for couple of my tibs problems:

When idling, it used to fluctuate from time to time. Not always. Only in neutral (not while driving). Revs go up and down.

When pussing the pedal to the floor, sometimes (rarely) it starts to bog and hasitate, jumping... Kinda scary when you try to come back into the streaming traffic... I nevder had it driving gently. Only after pushing the car a little. and them after a minute of driving it disappears....

When touching the TPS connector, pushing it a little without disconnecting while engine running- I get a little change in the rpm's. a little similar to the idling issue.

Do you think all these things connected to maybe a bad TPS?
I checked, and I have a Kefico unit.

What do you think?
Where do you get a cheap one?

Thanks, and please do share your insights....

If you press on the casing of the TPS and the idle changes, the TPS is bad, Kefico or not.

You can put up a WTB listing here, or contact local or online salvage yards. Dealerships may charge different prices... there's at least one that sells for less than MSRP, online. Search around here or EXD for a thread about buying an exhaust manifold... someone posted up a link to a $160 new one. Man I need to bookmark that link. Not all the savings are huge but it's usually cheaper than your local yokels.

The symptoms could all be from that, but it is at least a known bad part to replace.

sasha, i had the very same exact problem as you. right like stocker said. it's not the wiring, or the plug connection, but a bad TPS. mine was a kefico, but it still went bad. i replaced mine with one from a '99 accent and she runs beautifully! the one you have now is junk now.

you can get a cheap one at the junk yard. i have a Bosch TPS i'd be willing to sell however i'm not sure about how to ship it to Israel, if customs matters if it's in an envelope and it weights less than 1 pound. you're better off finding one yourself over there.

Just installed the used tps I got from ebay. it came from the 2004 elantra.
Is it common to chop off the top of the sensor to make it work, or it's just my car?

The plastic top was too long in comparison to my old Kefico. Other than that, it seem to do the work quite well.

time will tell LOL.\\

Thanks guys!

No, that's not common, you ordered the wrong part.

The TPS you needed is from a beta 1, 2004 = beta 2.5.

It may work, but it's the wrong part.

If it runs, I call that close enough to the right part to get to work! laugh.gif
