I seriously doubt that the hood vents are letting out enough heat to cool the charge before it hits the catalytic converter. It's most likely the increased dimensions and high flow cat. Some heat wrap might just put me over the edge and make the exhaust work better, but I'm not inclined to spend the money on a what-if chance.
I can't cover the holes up. I'd like to, but that comment belongs in the scoote hood review thread. I just have to keep my engine clean, with a silicone coating, and use appropriate covering and waterproofing techniques.

agreen- A word about Performance-Curve. They have the crappiest customer service ever! took me 2 weeks to get a new flex pipe sent to me cuz they sent me the wrong one. Dont say no one told you.

i have a P0422 - "Main Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)" with my Catco high flow with my sensors working fully. is that the code you're getting? my setup looks exactly like yours, and if you have a magnaflow and are still getting this code then i'm crying.

I think the problem is it's a high flow catalytic converter meant for V6 and V8 engines. If it gets hot enough for long enough, the light goes out, but my catalytic converter dosn't get hot enough during my drive to work.I honestly don't know what the problem might be. The solution is definitely a spark plug non-fouler, or a o2 sensor spacer.
I've got a package at the post office, it's either the ram for my desktop, or the o2 sensor spacer I purchased for $12 on ebay.

same here!! i think the problem is the fact that it says "high flow" meaning it's less restrictive. the shop down in florida told me never to get those. they said the real catalytics cost $600-$800 for a reason and that the $70 ones won't filter out anything. maybe buying a regular catalytic converter will just eliminate this code from popping up.
let me know how this works out. i'm reading that using the O2 foulers isn't a good idea for engine combustion. thanks adam.

Just thought I'd add... Magnaflow no longer makes a 94105. It was replaced with the 94105CA, which is Cali compliant. Either way, this is the wrong cat for a Hyundai. This cat is for cars with a GVWR of around 6,000Lbs. The correct part number is 91005CA or 91035. These are externally the same size as the 94105CA, but are designed for a car with a 4,500 Lbs. GVWR. The only difference between the 91005CA and the 91035 is that the "CA" is Cali compliant and the "XXX35" series cats have an O2 sensor bung built it (saves you from having to drill/weld one in).
