A couple weeks ago I made a post about a sound I was hearing from the front left hand side of the car. After some inputs, I checked the tie Rod. Well there was a lot of movement there and I went to Hyundai got a new tie rod end. I replaced both sides on Thursday.
I was out today and the noise is still there. Mind you I have not gone for an allignment yet b/c I don't see how it would change anything.
The noise sounds like a CLUNK and it only happens if I hit the gas pedal in when I'm going under 30mph. Don't matter how hard I hit the gas pedal. I also here it starting from a stand still. I'm not launching hard either, I can't hear it when I launch hard because of exaust and engine noise but it might still be there.
Fire your opinions away....

is the clunk sound you hear one after the other, like "clunk, clunk, clunk, clunk, clunk".
is it constant, "cluuuuuuuuuuuunk"
or is it one big " clunk "
if the car is running, but not moving at all, can you still hear the noise?
need input.
it was the tie rod ends that you replace right? i don't see why they didn't at least recommend that you get an alignment done to you???

Just one clunk. You do not hear the clunk when still. Only time I hear it is if I'm going below 30mph and I acc prolly between 10-50%, any more and I won't hear it b/c of the engine and exhaust. Noise happens as I mentioned above either from a stand point or if I acc. under between 1-30mph. I do not hear a CLUNK while driving or turning, UNLESS I make a stop then proceed with a turn.
You guys get what I'm trying to explain?

i tried to look underneath my car to take a peak, but i don't have my jack with me. i've got an idea of what it could be, but i don't know the word i'm looking for, and i don't know if our cars have them.
edit, nevermind i saw what year you've got
Try to tighten the bolt of the crossmember, and any other bolts that are similar to it underneath the chassis (the bolts that bolt up directly to the chassis). then test drive the car to see if it goes away. what i'm thinking is when your car goes forward like that, the chassis flexes (even a little) and if those aren't tightened down, it'll make a POP or CLUNK noise.
