the problem is that the height is too much for a stock hood and the length of the engine and tranny are too long, and that tranny is not compatible with the beta tranny. You would have to rework the mounts on the front strut pillars completely, like big time.
And yeah, Jay's still around. Still a complete asshat. still slowly killing his rd2.

Well to get into topic, Hyundai does have as Redz mentioned, a new 2.4 engine that from the top of my head has 160HP and it goes into the 4cyl Sonata and Santa Fe 2WD (2007 models).
Regards to the older models with the engine derived from the Mitsu, we would have to know if the internals are really resistant to take FI right? For NA aplications I wouldn't think it's worth the effort (hipotetically because because I read it does NOT fit).

The NEW 2.4L is the world engine, that Hyundai made with Mitsu and Chrysler.
last time I looked, it's 2.4L, 170 to 175 HP and 165 TQ.

Hmm, think this engine will have some kinda manual version of hyundais AWD system? And how bout, beta head on the 4G64?, or 4G63t head on it? Reinforce the internals and such then bolt the evo/talon awd system too it, relocate exhaust / fuel tank and remove trunk kinda and you got your self one nasty RD2 lol ... isnt this the motor from the eclipse spyder?
