Yeah, me and landshark ran across the same problem when swapping heater controls from my parts Tib to my current one because the area around the dials was cracked. Since it was just the exterior that needed fixing, we just pulled the exterior covers off of the internals and swapped them. Im glad I didnt have to go through all of this your having to do.

Well since both my 2000's have different clusters (diff. Recirculation switch and Rear setup like the pics above), Im guessing it was done in 2000, but as to why... Im clueless.

Actually, I just cut the clear end off of the hose harness, and played around with the hoses till I found the right sequence. Double, triple, and quadruple check it, with the engine running, that you have the hoses in the right places. Then zip tie them in place. That's it. I may have the diagram for MY setup from the last swap, but since the nozzles are in a different configuration, it may not work for you.

theres only 4 vacuum lines, just cut them, and go from there, just plug in the vacuum lines, and see what vents respond to what switch, and go from there. you should be able to figure it out very quickly once you start on it.

you probably spent more time posting in this thread then it would have takin to actually figure it out. i say just get out there and get to it.

heh, while you're at it, try to figure out how to get Defrost and Vent at the same time. That always pisses me off that we don't have that option.

Yeah, I played with it a bit last night and then I got abducted by aliens!
Well.. my girlfriend, actually.

After work tonight, i'm going to finish it off. I just pulled the hoses out at the controls end, and pushed them back into the harness in different sequences. I'll get it figured out. If I can, i'll try to determine which color hose is for what and record them for anyone else who has the same problem. I'm not sure if i'll be able to though, since they're run on a vacuum.

I'll at least take a picture of the final setup though, so anyone in the future will know which color goes where.

XXX - I was pulling my switches apart to put LEDs in them while I was posting here, so it wasn't a complete waste of time! laugh.gif
