How Do You Install A New Aftermarket Tach

I just bought a autometer tach and i really dont know how to install it. Where do the wires go. I know red to power black to ground. but where do i put the wire for the tach. I can see a spot on the ignition pack. Help me!!!

you can pull the tach signal from one of the wires running to the guage cluster. its been talked about a bunch on here. do a search under username javageek for "tach" and im sure you will find it.

Doode, if your stock tach isn't broken, then why put a big, and GAUDY aftermarket tach on there?
If you just want a shift light, there are TONS of those available, even some nice sequential ones like the one I installed.
Don't rice it out man. Functional rice is one thing, but putting a extra tach on your car is just gay.

Dude, functional rice? Don't bash. Let him have his Tach. Anyways, Tibby01 is right I'm pretty sure of it. I'm going to go buy some LED washer nozzles and tireflys to "install" before I come down for the BBQ now.
