may be a completely dumb and off topic question, but would there be anyway to branch the intake so you could have like a "Y" pipe if you want to call it that, then have two throttles?

it would work like a 2nd throttle body, only branching off with the 1st so you could have the same throttle response from the smaller tb's but still get the extra air flow? if any of this makes sense? maybe its just my crazyness kicking in

edit: just looked at jorge's pic, it would be something kinda like that, only 2 stock tb's and they would branch into each other

If both of you searched, both of you would see that both of these are already out there, and talked about here.

Quad Throttle Bodies.
Dual Throttle Bodies.

And you aren't Faithofaf***up either. LOL

I've seen your pics before, but I've never seen it in person either. Looks good though. Did you ever do a full writeup on what model/year/engine that is from and what it takes to mount it?

I just went and read it Tanc...

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (tanc @ Aug 3 2007, 02:35 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Im running as you can see a dual rail set up which I made (I have access to a full machine shop), on a modified stock manifold. The manifold runners were opened up slightly because our runners aren't a restriction. I just smoothed them off. The TB is a Mustang 70mm with the ford tps. I welded a plate to the stock tb flanges than on a lathe ported it to 71mm all the way through. Re-drilled and tapped for new tb studs.

The throttle position plate, where the end of the cable slides into had to be opened up a bit and thin out a very small amount so that ours slide in there. (Fords use smaller throttle cable end caps)</div>

That's all you really say about it, there's another spot where it says the same thing about it being a 70MM Ford TB, but not what engine it comes off of, what cars, ect.

Redz, you can use either tb from a v8 explorer or mine is a 89 5.0. It really doesn't matter which TB you use as long as the butterfly wheel turns the same as our stock tbs. But all of them require modifications to the manifold flange, and throttle cable if they are 70mm +. Landrover TB looks promising too.

Ive got a land rover one here and the TPS is same as our stock, plug and play there.

I need to get a new one though because I messed the one I have up. If the guy who bought three is getting rid of it for what they are on ebay maybe Ill grab it.

I have access to horizontal drilling as Urson mentioned. Ill also be modifying it to take our stock cable. And Im using the bottom of the stock IM ported and new plenum.
