I think you two are overreacting a bit. The Tib projectors are fine with HIDs. Most of the time the inside of the projector housing is so tarnished it won't reflect properly anyway. I've been running mine since RDT was a thing and never been flashed.
You sound like a couple of old farts.

Sorry Tibbi,
There are endless stacks of evidence that basically say that aftermarket HIDs are not kosher
I can go find them if you feel like having a read

Incorrect here's why
1) HID retrofits are not able to produce the same beam shape as stock
2) Even if they were aimed so low as to fit entirely inside of the stock beam spread, the distribution of light is all wrong. There needs to be a certain amount of light in the foreground, some in middle distance, and a controlled amount splayed upwards for reading street signs.
3) 'regardless of how bright' is BS, factory headlights are basically as bright as they can legally be already
4) blue light scatters readily and is harder for the human eye to adjust to
Have a read

I disagree, it DOES matter. There's a HUGE difference if HIDs are in projectors or not. Aiming them properly is important. I've had HIDs in my Tiburon and both Genesis, in projector housings. I drive at night with dozens of other Genesis Coupes with HIDs, never had an issue with them blinding me or being annoying.
Non-projector housings with HIDs are ridiculous. They are similar to the truck posted above, and BLINDING to everyone. That sh*t should be illegal.

Thanks to those that actually gave a helpful response. If you want to talk about the legality of car modifications then how come there's so many dudes running out there with engine modifications that do not pass smog/emissions? They will kill the entire world due to excessive carbon footprint . Or people that drive around with illegal tint levels on their windows. Or people that drive around with bald tires. The list goes on and on people. The constant fight about illegal HID's humors me

Who cares about the legality, I care about being able to see well and not being an obvious hazard
Bald tires and ridiculous tint are also hazardous and make your car worse at being a car

Bald tires help with traction on a prepared track
Dark tint helps you hide the drinking and smoking . . . and sleeping . . . activities that can go on in a car
"worse" is a matter of perspective!
