Hi Guys,
I know this is a Tibby site, but there is no other place for Hyundai knowledge, and I know you guys know your stuff. I drive a '99 V6 Sonata, and it's getting a little loose. I want to replace the struts and springs, for one thing. I'm interested in stock ride height but stiffer spring rates. I know the engine relates directly to the Tiburon V6, but most of the upgrades available are for your 1.8/4 banger. So I'm stuck with a V6/auto. Do any of you know how a guy would go about freshening this thing up?....thinking, stiff, fast...etc. Thanks in advance!

I'd be surprised if someone out there didn't have upgraded struts or coilovers for you. I'd also be surprised if they are less expensive than stock from the dealership.

Probably my best bet will be in finding interchangeability with cars that are more performance oriented and supported by the aftermarket. Of course, Tiburon V6 stuff will work for the engine. As for struts, some research should show what interchanges with other models...just need to figure out how to get started.

Thanks for the input...however, sonataspeed is a dead website. Nothing happening there that I can see, and when you click on links to data for certain models you get blank pages. Well laid out, just not populated with info. Hyundaiaftermarket looks promising, but..I've registered two times now, with totally different info each time just in case and when it comes down to it I can't log in..oh well, maybe it's me or my connection. I've kinda been through all this before, which is how I found RD Tiburon. Seems to be the only live/active Hyundai site.

There are a few others that I was following a couple years ago, and dropped for lack of maturity (elantraxd) or lack of technical depth (elantrazone). There is also NewTiburon if you don't mind some assholery from the site staff. They'll have more information for the V6 there, so you can go troll it anyway. Just don't expect any love for your old Sonata from NT.

Do you try logging into HA on the homepage or forum page? On the homepage the log in doesn't work you have to click on forums and log in there.

Good advice, Bommello. Logging into the forums first works. Seems like a good site. And they actually have links to performance junk for old beaters like mine...woohoo.
