My thoughts:

Yes, wires do go bad. If you're going to get replacement, PRD wires are an excellent product with a lifetime warranty. Far as testing the wires... omh meter, and check to see if the resistance is correct.

Though from the sounds of it, your IAC needs to be cleaned out. Try taking some seafoam to it for cleaning (search for how to do that) and then lube it with some silicon gel (DTN explained how to do that as well).

yellow: Do the seafoam clean up, lube your IAC, check your wires & plugs

I checked the spark plugs they are good. Put on new cone filter on. Clean the 2 sensors in the cai but still nothing.
Here is the thing when I reset the ecu the car works fine for about 20 miles or so.
Could it be the MAF or what do you guys think? The CEL no longer comes on.
Any other ideas?

If you have a bad MAF it will likely act up more but you can check it by unplugging it. If the problem goes away, your MAF is bad. You have to unplug it when the problem is occuring though.

What brand TPS? Thats the sensor on the throttle body.

And you may still have a code stored even if the light shut off. Get it checked if you can.
